Group Leader:
Dr Ayomi Perera
I am an organic chemist with multidisciplinary research interests, broadly in areas of sustainable technologies for the development of nanomaterials for energy, catalysis, water treatment and biomedical applications. I obtained my PhD in Chemistry at Kansas State University, USA, followed by a postdoctoral appointment at University College London, in the EPSRC Centre for Nature Inspired Engineering. Currently, I am spearheading a dynamic and diverse research group at Kingston University London.
I am also keen on educating the next generation of scientists while bridging the gap between theory and research. The interdisciplinarity of my work is reflected on the classes I teach, which include Organic Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, and Advanced Materials and Industrial Chemistry, as a Senior Lecturer at Kingston University’s Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
